Jordan Montgomery Solid In No-Decision
4 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Jordan Montgomery put together a solid outing despite the no-decision Thursday. Montgomery pitched five innings, allowing a pair of runs on six hits while recording a walk and a strikeout. The southpaw allowed a run in the first inning but settled into the game and kept the scoreboard clean until the bottom half of the sixth inning when he surrendered the game-tying homer. Montgomery reportedly wanted to stay in the game, as he was only at 74 pitches when he was removed. He registered 22 called strikes and whiffs on his pitches and induced an average exit velocity of 87.6 MPH, which bodes well for his outlook moving forward. He'll carry a 4.39 ERA and 1.09 WHIP into his next outing on May 5 against the Astros.
