Jordan Holloway Shines Out Of The Bullpen On Wednesday
3 years agoMiami Marlins rookie pitcher Jordan Holloway was excellent out of the bullpen in Wednesday's win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. In a Don Mattingly managed bullpen game, Holloway followed opener Ross Detwiler after Detwiler was left in to give up five runs in just 2 2/3 innings. Holloway settled everything down immediately though, and provided 4 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing just two hits while striking out six. Holloway has been excellent coming out of the bullpen but awful as a member of the starting rotation. One would think he would continue to come out of the bullpen, but this is a Mattingly-managed team, so who knows? Holloway has a bright future as a late-inning reliever if he's used properly.
