Jordan Hicks Notches Another Save Sunday
1 year agoSt. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher Jordan Hicks tossed a scoreless ninth to secure his second consecutive save over the New York Mets, this time closing out an 8-7 win. This is starting to become a story, as presumed closer Giovanny Gallegos should have been available for this one, but was held out in favor of Hicks once the Cardinals took the lead in the top of the ninth. The hard-throwing righty now holds a 4.15 ERA, 1.52 WHIP, and 48 strikeouts in 30 ⅓ IP. With these back-to-back saves, Hicks becomes an interesting option for fantasy managers in need of saves, at least until Ryan Helsley returns.
