Jordan Hicks Bounces Back, Notches Save No. 6
1 year agoSt. Louis Cardinals right-hander Jordan Hicks struck out one over a perfect inning to earn the save during Thursday's 3-0 win over the Miami Marlins. He entered the ninth to protect a one-run lead. The 26-year-old blew the save in his previous appearance, allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits and a walk over a 1/3 of an inning. He bounced back Thursday, tossing a perfect inning to notch his sixth save. Hicks is 6-for-9 in save opportunities while posting a 4.04 ERA, 1.49 WHIP, and 54 strikeouts over 35 2/3 innings in 2023. Hicks is the Cardinals' primary closer, while Ryan Helsley (forearm) remains on the injured list. Fantasy managers searching for saves should continue to roll with Hicks in all league formats.
