Jonathan Villar Could See Time At Shortstop
6 years agoBaltimore Orioles second baseman Jonathan Villar, who had a couple hits while playing second and leading off in his debut with the team on Thursday, could see some time at shortstop. Villar's injured right thumb appears to be healthy, and he'll be given the green light to run as often as he'd like to close out the season on a last-place club. Villar was hitting only .261 with six home runs, 22 RBI and 14 steals for the Brewers but wasn't playing that often. In Baltimore, he'll play every day, hit at the top of the lineup and could gain shortstop eligibility. His fantasy stock is clearly on the rise, and he could help those in mixed leagues in the final months, mainly in the stolen base department.
