Jonathan Schoop Placed on 10-Day DL
7 years agoBaltimore Orioles second baseman Jonathan Schoop was put on the DL prior to Saturday's game against the Red Sox due to a right oblique strain. To take his place, the Orioles activated pitcher Alex Cobb from the DL to start Saturday. Manager Buck Showalter did not think the injury was very severe as it was a Grade 1 strain and thinks Schoop could be back within two weeks. It is a rare DL stint for a player who had only missed two games in the past two seasons, but after a slow start with only one home run and a .230 average, some time off may be exactly what Schoop needs to turn his season around.
