Jonathan Marchessault Scores Two Goals In Game 2 Victory
1 year agoVegas Golden Knights right wing Jonathan Marchessault scored two goals and finished with three points in Monday's 7-2 victory in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final. Marchessault scored the opening goal of the game on a power-play to give the Golden Knights an early lead, while the 31-year-old found the back of the net once again in the third period. Marchessault has been on fire with nine goals in his last nine games, while his total for the playoffs is up to a team-high of 12 goals. Additionally, the Golden Knights received goals from forwards Brett Howden (twice), Nicolas Roy, Michael Amadio and defenseman Alec Martinez in the contest. Vegas has nine different goal scorers through two games, which is the most by a team in the opening two contests of a Stanley Cup Final in NHL history. Marchessault's scoring contributions have played an important role in the success of the team, and the Golden Knights are now two wins away from becoming Stanley Cup champions for the first time in franchise history.
