Jonathan Loaisiga To Have Season Ending UCL Surgery

New York Yankees relief pitcher Jonathan Loaisiga is set to have season-ending surgery on his UCL due to a forearm strain. The right-handed pitcher was placed on the 60-day injured list yesterday, and this recent news confirms that he will not pitch again this season. The 29-year-old was also battling shoulder injuries most of last season, which resulted in him only totaling 21 ⅔ innings over the past two years. Loaisiga was an intriguing pitcher in leagues that value holds, as he was poised to be used as a rotating setup man for closer Clay Holmes. Ian Hamilton should be viewed as the primary eighth-inning option for the Yankees going forward.
