Jonathan Loaisiga Sent Down After Tuesday Start
6 years agoThe New York Yankees optioned starting pitcher Jonathan Loaisiga to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre after his start against the Astros on Tuesday. The right-hander allowed four hits and two runs (one homer) while walking two and striking out five in just three innings. He heads back to the minors with a 3.86 ERA and strong 11.57 K/9 in seven innings and two starts. He's the team's No. 2 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, and will likely see more starts in the majors this year. Domingo German is the one who will continue to benefit from the injury to Luis Severino (shoulder).
