Jonathan Loaisiga Picks Up Victory In Debut
6 years agoAfter originally being on tap to start for the New York Yankees on Thursday, rookie Jonathan Loaisiga made his major league debut Friday against the Tampa Bay Rays. The 23-year-old went only five innings, allowing three hits, no runs and picking up six strikeouts. His start was as short as it was, however, due to his struggle with walks, as he tossed 91 pitches. Loaisiga departed with a two-run lead, which would later balloon to five as he recorded a victory in his debut. He should see at least one more start as the Yankees continue to deal with Masahiro Tanaka's absence while they also search the trade market for a starting pitcher.
