Jonathan Loaisiga Activated From The Injured List
3 years agoThe New York Yankees activated relief pitcher Jonathan Loaisiga (shoulder) from the injured list on Wednesday. The 26-year-old right-hander was sidelined for about three weeks with a right shoulder strain. He's been one of the top arms out of the Yankees' bullpen this year, so the timing of his activation is ideal as the Yankees are fighting for a playoff birth. Loaisiga has appeared in 54 games this year and he has gone 9-4 with a 2.25 ERA and a 1.03 WHIP. He's also tallied 18 holds and five saves along the way. Pitcher Andrew Heaney was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move. Heaney and the Yankees negotiated an agreement that would allow for him to be optioned to the minors and give the team flexibility.
