Jonathan Holder Implodes In Blowout Loss
6 years agoThe first man out of the New York Yankees bullpen was Jonathan Holder on Thursday night after CC Sabathia managed just three innings. Taking on the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park, the 25-year-old easily had his worst outing of the season, allowing seven runs without recording a single out. The woeful performance saw his ERA jump from 2.06 to 3.50, as the Red Sox wound up scoring eight runs in the inning. Holder had made three appearances against Boston prior to this outing, having allowed one run across 3 1/3 innings. His positioning in the bullpen’s pecking order might have taken a significant hit on the night, as the Yankees fell five games behind the Red Sox in the loss column.
