New Jersey Devils defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler is out indefinitely with a concussion suffered when he was elbowed in the head by New York Rangers forward Matt Rempe on Monday. Rempe was suspended four games for the incident. The 26-year-old is a key piece of the Devils' blueline, even if he doesn't offer much at the offensive end of the ice. He has recorded just one goal and nine points in 49 games this season but has 69 hits and 79 blocks to his credit as part of his 19:25 of average ice time per game. He was a plus-27 a season ago but has slipped to a minus-four rating on a disappointing Devils team that sits sixth in the division with a 31-30-4 record on the season and six points back of the New York Islanders for the second and final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.--Brenton Kemp
