Jon Gray To Start Game 4 Of World Series
1 year agoTexas Rangers right-hander Jon Gray will make the start in Game 4 of the World Series on Tuesday in Arizona against the Diamondbacks. Gray hasn't started a game for the Rangers since Sept. 25 and has allowed five earned runs on 10 hits (one home run) while walking one and striking out seven in four relief innings over three appearances this postseason, so he's surely going to have a short leash and extremely limited DFS upside. The D-backs are going with a bullpen game on Tuesday, so both teams could get into their bullpens early. During the 2023 regular season, Gray went 9-8 with a 4.12 ERA (4.47 FIP), 1.29 WHIP, 54 walks and 142 strikeouts in 157 1/3 innings over his 29 starts. In two starts against Arizona, he gave up nine earned runs in 9 1/3 frames with four walks and seven K's.
