Jon Gray Suffers Cramping In Sunday Start
6 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Jon Gray suffered through some cramping in his right calf during his start on Sunday against the Marlins and had to leave the game early. However, it's a minor issue and he doesn't expect it to be a problem moving forward. The right-hander took a loss in his season debut against the Fish, allowing five hits (one homer) and three earned runs while walking one and striking out 10 in 6 2/3 innings. Gray had a brutal and unlucky 5.12 ERA in 31 starts last year but still has plenty of strikeout upside and should bounce back in 2019. Rockies starters can always be dicey plays at home in the thin air of Colorado, though. Expect Gray to make his next start.
