Jon Gray Pulled From Sunday’s Game
4 months agoTexas Rangers starting pitcher Jon Gray (undisclosed) was pulled from Sunday's game, according to Shawn McFarland. The training staff went to check on the presumptive starter during warmups and eventually took him off the field before he even threw a pitch. Gray logged a season-high seven ⅔ innings of work in his last start against the Chicago White Sox. Overall, the 32-year-old has held a modest 3.73 ERA and 1.26 WHIP through 94 frames this season. Fantasy managers should pay close attention to any updates on the right-hander after Sunday's game. If he were to miss a turn in the rotation, Jose Urena would be a strong candidate to make a spot start. UPDATE: Gray left Sunday's start with right-groin discomfort and will continue to be evaluated. He spent two weeks on the injured list in May-June with a right-groin strain, so he could be headed back to the IL.
