Jon Berti Lands On IL, Jorge Soler Reinstated
2 years agoThe Miami Marlins placed infielder Jon Berti (groin) on the injured list with a left groin strain on Friday and reinstated outfielder Jorge Soler (pelvis) from the injured list in a corresponding move. The Marlins also optioned Daniel Castano to the minors and recalled pitcher Cody Poteet. Berti suffered a mild groin strain in Thursday's game, but he'll head to the IL before next week's All-Star break. The 32-year-old, who leads baseball with 28 stolen bases, can't return until July 25, at the earliest. Berti needs to be stashed for his speed in all fantasy leagues. Soler is back in left field and is batting cleanup on Friday against Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Kyle Gibson. Soler returns to a .217/.306/.421 slash line with 13 home runs, 34 RBI and 31 runs scored this season.
