Jon Berti Headed To The Bench Saturday
2 years agoMiami Marlins infielder Jon Berti is getting a rest in Saturday's matchup with Caleb Kilian and the Chicago Cubs. It's his second day off in three days, and he's slashing just .228/.279/.354 with two home runs, 10 runs, and eight RBI, but has swiped four bags across 26 games. Garrett Hampson is taking over at shortstop for Berti and will bat ninth. The 28-year-old is hitting .231 with one long ball, six runs, four RBI, and two stolen bases over 16 games. The speedster's fantasy value isn't too exciting, aside from his baserunning, but that isn't enough for fantasy managers to justify adding him from the waiver wire.
