Johnny Cueto To Make Third Rehab Start Thursday
1 year agoMiami Marlins right-hander Johnny Cueto (ankle, biceps) will make his third minor-league rehab start for Triple-A Jacksonville on Thursday, and he's scheduled to throw five innings or 75 pitches. Cueto allowed four earned runs on seven hits in 3 2/3 innings in a rehab outing for Double-A Pensacola on June 16, retiring 10 of the final 13 batters he faced after giving up a first-inning grand slam. He had been dealing with a biceps issue on and off since spring training before he left his Marlins debut on April 3. Then he sprained his left ankle during a rehab start for Jacksonville on May 6. The Marlins could use the 37-year-old veteran after placing Edward Cabrera (shoulder) on the IL recently, but at this point in his career, Cueto probably doesn't have a lot to offer fantasy managers.
