Toronto Maple Leafs forward John Tavares is considered day-to-day with a lower-body injury. Tavares was hurt in the team's preseason contest against Montreal on Thursday. He was able to finish the game but only saw limited action, logging two shifts in the third period. Tavares missed Friday's practice due to the injury. William Nylander (undisclosed) was also injured against the Canadiens, and Auston Matthews (upper body) has been out of the lineup, so the Maple Leafs' big guns have gotten quite banged up in preseason. However, all three appear to be dealing with minor issues and should be ready for the start of the regular season.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
