John Schreiber Fans Two In Saturday's Outing
2 years agoBoston Red Sox relief pitcher John Schreiber walked none and struck out two in 1 2/3 scoreless and hitless innings in his Grapefruit League outing on Saturday against the Minnesota Twins. The 29-year-old right-hander faced five batters in his most recent spring outing. In his second season in Boston last year, Schreiber had a career-best 2.22 ERA (2.50 FIP), 0.98 WHIP, 22 holds his first eight career saves and a career-high 74 strikeouts in 65 innings over 64 relief appearances. He's not in line for regular save chances with Kenley Jansen in town, but Schreiber should be plenty relevant in leagues that reward points for holds.
