John Gant Tosses Two Hitless Innings on Monday
5 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals pitcher John Gant got the start for Monday's Grapefruit League game against the Miami Marlins and threw two hitless innings. He ended up allowing an unearned run while walking one and striking out two. Gant is a candidate to be a short-term starter in the rotation spot left vacant by Miles Mikolas (arm) getting a late start to the season. He'll likely be working in more of a setup/middle relief role for most of the season though. He's a guy to keep an eye on, particularly in holds leagues, but not really someone who needs to be drafted in most formats.
