5 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher John Gant earned a win on Monday, improving his record to 9-0. Gant came on with two outs in the fourth inning to relieve ineffective starter Adam Wainwright. Gant tossed 2 1/3 innings, allowing just a walk while striking out three. He's had some unhittable stretches this season mixed in with some minor slumps, all leading to a solid 2.97 ERA and .207 batting average allowed. He's a decent option in deeper holds leagues, but his usage can be a little unpredictable, making him an inconsistent fantasy option despite his obvious talent.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
