1 year agoCincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto (shoulder) has been going through his strengthening program and has added on more hitting, according to manager David Bell. However, the Reds haven't given a timetable for Votto's return from the injured list. He was first eligible to return from the IL on Sunday, but that won't happen because he hasn't resumed full baseball activities yet. The expectation is that the veteran slugger will be sidelined for at least another week. Christian Encarnacion-Strand will continue to serve as the primary option at first base while Votto is out.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
