1 year agoBoston Red Sox reliever Joely Rodriguez (shoulder) began a rehab assignment on Tuesday with Triple-A Worcester and is expected to make at least one more rehab appearance, according to MLB.com. If there are no setbacks, the southpaw has a chance to return for the club's series against the Chicago White Sox, which begins on Friday. Rodriguez has been dealing with left shoulder inflammation, which has kept him out of action since May 30. The 31-year-old has only played in five games this season, as he also missed time with an oblique injury to start the campaign. Across four innings, Rodriguez has given up eight earned runs on six walks while striking out five. Right now, the six-year veteran has little value in any format.--Spencer Seguin
