2 years agoThe Boston Red Sox activated left-handed reliever Joely Rodriguez (oblique) from the 15-day injured list on Monday and designated right-hander Ryan Brasier for assignment in a corresponding move. Rodriguez will be making his 2023 debut when he gets into a game after spending the first six weeks of the season on the shelf with a right oblique strain that he suffered in spring training. The 31-year-old southpaw gave up just one run while striking out nine hitters in five innings during his minor-league rehab assignment at Double-A Portland and Triple-A Worcester. Rodriguez could eventually see some high-leverage bullpen work, which would make him a candidate for a waiver-wire pickup in deep fantasy leagues that reward points for holds.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
