10 months agoSt. Louis Blues goaltender Joel Hofer is the confirmed starter for Monday's game against the visiting Philadelphia Flyers. It's just the second starter for Hofer in the New Year after he surrendered four goals in a 5-1 loss to the Florida Panthers on Jan. 9. For the season, the 23-year-old has recorded a 2.87 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage across 15 outings (13 starts), going 7-7-0 in the process. Despite the light workload, Hofer is indeed outperforming No. 1 goaltender Jordan Binnington who sports a 3.04 GAA and a .906 Sv% in his 30 appearances (28 starts). Nonetheless, the youngster will continue to act as the backup barring a complete collapse from Binnington.--Brenton Kemp
