The Toronto Maple Leafs and defenseman Joel Edmundson reportedly have mutual interest in a reunion, according to The Athletic's Pierre LeBrun. The Leafs acquired the veteran blueliner in a trade with the Washington Capitals ahead of the March 8 NHL trade deadline. Edmundson appeared in nine games with the team, failing to hit the scoresheet but he collected 21 hits, 16 blocked shots, and a plus-three rating in 17:48 of average ice time per game. He also appeared in all of the team's seven postseason contests, notching an assist with 22 hits and 12 blocks in 18:40 of average ice time per game. Edmundson saw his four-year, $14 million deal, originally signed by the Montreal Canadiens, expire at the end of the 2023-24 season.--Brenton Kemp
