6 years agoHouston Astros reliever Joe Smith (elbow) is set to begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Corpus Cristi on Friday. He has been out since June 10 with elbow discomfort. Smith has been underwhelming out of the bullpen so far this year with a 5.49 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, and four holds through 19 2/3 innings.
