Joe Ross Allows Two Runs In Loss To Braves
4 years agoWashington Nationals starter Joe Ross continued his strong start to the season Tuesday against Atlanta. Even though he earned his second loss of the season, Ross allowed only two earned runs while striking out three. Removing his horrendous fourth start of the season against St. Louis, Ross has allowed only three combined earned runs in his four other starts, including Tuesday. Tuesday's blemish came when Ross was facing the Braves the third time through the order when Ronald Acuna Jr. took him deep. Ozzie Albies then singled and Ross was pulled, with Tanner Rainey ultimately allowing his inherited runner to score. That said, the secondary numbers for Ross are concerning, as he entered this start with an 87 ERA+ and 5.74 FIP. Still, Ross is someone fantasy managers need to roster moving forward. Yes, the implosion possibility is real, but so are quality starts like this one.
