Joe Mixon Agrees To Pay Cut
1 year agoCincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon agreed to a pay cut on Friday. He'll now make a base salary of nearly $6 million, although he has the potential to earn up to $8 million through incentives. The former Sooner is coming off a down year, rushing for 814 yards off 210 carries for a hideous 3.9 YPC. He also had 60 catches for 441 yards while totaling nine touchdowns, seven fewer than he had the year before. Mixon still has a chance to get back on track, considering the Bengals upgraded the offensive line this offseason. But with Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Tyler Boyd all looking for Joe Burrow's attention, Mixon probably won't be a featured option in 2023-24, at least not consistently. The 26-year-old was due to earn around $9 million (non-guaranteed). However, the team requested he take a pay cut, or he could have been given his walking papers
