6 years agoMinnesota Twins first baseman Joe Mauer went 3-for-5 with three singles in Wednesday’s win against the Kansas City Royals. The outing marked Mauer’s fifth straight game in which he’s hit safely. He’s now hitting .320 the last seven days and .273 for the season. He’s clearly not the same player he once was and he still only has two home runs on the year, but it’s good to see him be productive. That said, while he might be good for a flyer if his streak continues and the matchup is right, there are better first base options out there for daily fantasy players.--Mauricio Castillo
