Jimmy Cordero Hit With Loss Against Rays
2 years agoNew York Yankees relief pitcher Jimmy Cordero lost his first game of the season in Friday's 5-4 road defeat at the hands of the Tampa Bay Rays. Cordero surrendered one earned run on one hit while walking a batter in just one-third of an inning for the Yankees in the bottom of the seventh inning. It was a minor hiccup for the 31-year-old, who had been pitching well going into Friday's game. Overall, the Dominican right-hander has allowed only three runs on seven hits (one homer) while walking one and fanning 13 hitters in 11 1/3 relief innings so far this season. Cordero will look to bounce back with a scoreless frame in his next appearance.
