Jimmie Johnson Finishes Fifth In Final Start At Phoenix
4 years agoHendrick Motorsports driver Jimmie Johnson scored a fifth-place finish in his final start in the No. 48 in Sunday's Season Finale 500 at Phoenix Raceway. The seven-time champion started way back in 26th and methodically moved through the field. Johnson even led a few laps during a green-flag pit cycle and was sixth at the end of the second stage. After a horrific stretch of races, Johnson would collect his first top-five finish since Dover back in August. Johnson is planning on running some IndyCar events in 2021, but it is unsure if he will ever make another Cup start. Regardless, Johnson will go down as one of the best to ever put on a helmet, scoring 83 wins and seven championships.
