Jhoulys Chacin Solid In Opening Day Win
6 years agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Jhoulys Chacin gave up three runs on three hits and two walks through 5 1/3 innings Thursday against the Cardinals while striking out seven. Chacin gave up all three runs on two home runs in the second inning, but otherwise pitched how you would expect an opening day starter to pitch. Chacin averaged 7.29 K/9 last season, so I wouldn't expect to see him sustain the strikeout rate he had today, but despite that it was a very encouraging start. Chacin will likely provide a mid-threes ERA and could rack up a decent amount of wins playing for the Brewers, and is a solid starter for the back end of your rotation. Chacin looks to take on the Reds in Cincinnati next Tuesday.
