3 months agoAtlanta Braves starting pitching prospect Jhancarlos Lara has been on a nice run at High-A since the start of July. In his past five starts, the 21-year-old holds a stellar 2.00 ERA, 0.93 WHIP, and a 10:36 BB:K ratio. This was highlighted by his most recent start on August 7, where he tallied a season-high 12 punchouts. This dominant showing earned him South Atlantic League Pitcher of the Week honors. Overall, through 62 innings at High-A this summer, the right-hander carries a 3.92 ERA, 1.47 WHIP, and a 36:72 BB:K ratio, but his recent surge shows that he is taking a significant step forward.
