Jets Not Optimistic On Chris Herndon IV, Kelvin Beachum
5 years agoNew York Jets head coach Adam Gase isn't optimistic that tight end Chris Herndon IV (hamstring) and left tackle Kelvin Beachum (ankle) will be able to play in Week 9 against the Dolphins. Despite getting in limited practices, it appears that Herndon just isn't quite ready. It's a shame, too, as he would've had TE1 upside in his season debut in an excellent matchup. Instead, Ryan Griffin might be worth a TE2 streamer after going for two touchdowns in Week 8. Beachum being inactive would be bad news for quarterback Sam Darnold, although he's still in a great bounce-back spot against the winless Dolphins.
