Jesus Luzardo, Mike Fiers Not Attending Workouts
4 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitchers Jesus Luzardo and Mike Fiers haven't attended the team's summer-camp workouts yet, but general manager David Forst said he can't say if any players were not cleared to practice on Monday night. Luzardo and Fiers worked out together during the COVID-19 shutdown, but it's unclear if either pitcher has been cleared. It's possible that the results of their tests have been delayed. Luzardo, a 22-year-old left-hander, is the team's top prospect and has tantalizing upside for his ability to miss bats. He shouldn't have any restrictions on his workload in the shortened season, giving him massive upside at his 113 ADP. Fiers, a 35-year-old righty, had a career-high 15 wins in 2019 and an ERA under 4.00, but his FIP of 4.97 and weak 6.1 K/9 in 184 2/3 innings are more indicative of his low fantasy ceiling.
