Jesus Luzardo Earns A Win In His First Marlins Start
3 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Jesus Luzardo earned a win in his first start as a Marlin on Monday. Facing the New York Mets, Luzardo pitched five innings, giving up three runs on four hits and three walks while striking out five. Luzardo struggled a little with his control, throwing 47 of his 84 pitches for strikes and missing his spots badly at times, but he showed his upside by looking nearly unhittable when throwing strikes. Luzardo will likely spend the rest of the season in the starting rotation, but his fantasy value will come next season after he's had more of a chance to work with Marlins pitching coach Mel Stottlemyre, Jr. Luzardo should be rostered in all keeper and dynasty formats.
