Jesus Luzardo Allows 10 Hits In Under Five Innings
3 years agoMiami Marlins rookie starting pitcher Jesus Luzardo was essentially throwing batting practice in his start against the Washington Nationals on Tuesday. Luzardo threw 4 2/3 innings, allowing five runs on 10 hits with a walk and three strikeouts. He gave up two home runs and continues to struggle enormously since being acquired from the Oakland A's. As a Marlin, Luzardo has a 9.68 ERA and only one more strikeout than walks. He's shown flashes of brilliance within his poor starts, but the Marlins would certainly like to see him put it together for more than a batter or two.
