Jesus Aguilar Wins Arbitration Case
5 years agoMiami Marlins first baseman Jesus Aguilar won his salary arbitration case and will make $2.575 million in 2020 instead of the $2.325 million that the team proposed, according to sources. Aguilar was a first-time All-Star in 2018 when he hit .274 with 35 home runs, 108 RBI and an .890 OPS in 149 games with the Brewers, but he struggled to a .236/.325/.389 slash line, 12 home runs and 50 RBI in 131 games with Milwaukee and Tampa Bay in 2019. Was it just a one-year wonder in 2018? Maybe, but Aguilar could easily rebound with more consistent playing time, although he'll be in a pitcher's park and with a rebuilding club. He'll be in play as a late-round value pick in deep mixed and NL-only leagues.
