Jesse Chavez, Tanner Roark Join Braves
3 years agoThe Atlanta Braves optioned pitchers Kyle Wright and Ty Tice on Thursday and recalled right-handers Jesse Chavez and Tanner Roark in corresponding moves. To make room for Chavez and Roark on the 40-man roster, Tucker Davidson and Alex Jackson were moved to the 60-day injured list. Wright, 25, had allowed seven earned runs in just 6 1/3 innings of work (9.95 ERA) over two starts for Atlanta this year. He gave up five runs on four hits in two innings in his start against the New York Mets on Wednesday night. Chavez, 37, and Roark, 34, will give the Braves some veteran arms to eat up innings moving forward, but they aren't fantasy options. Chavez hasn't pitched in the big leagues this year, while Roark had a 6.43 ERA and 1.28 WHIP in seven innings with the Blue Jays.
