Jesper Fast Expected To Miss Entire Season
7 months agoCarolina Hurricanes right wing Jesper Fast is expected to miss the entire 2024-25 campaign after having neck surgery. Fast injured his neck in April in the team's 2023-24 regular-season finale. The speedy winger made 73 appearances with the Hurricanes last season, contributing six goals and 13 assists. He signed a two-year, $4.8 million contract with Carolina last offseason. Fast has had a solid career as a bottom-six forward, posting 248 points (91 goals, 157 assists) in 703 career games. His absence will give some of the Hurricanes' youngsters a chance to make the team.

11 months agoCarolina Hurricanes right wing Jesper Fast (upper body) isn't expected to play in the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs. He was injured in the team's regular-season finale against Columbus and hasn't featured in any of the first three games against the Islanders in the first round. The 32-year-old posted six goals and 19 points in 73 regular-season appearances in 2023-24. A year ago, Fast led Carolina with six goals in the playoffs and had nine points across 15 postseason outings.

Jesper Fast Remains Out On Thursday
11 months agoCarolina Hurricanes right wing Jesper Fast (upper body) will remain unavailable for Thursday's Game 3 against the Islanders. He suffered an upper-body in the team's regular-season finale and will be forced to skip a third consecutive game. Fast had only one point in his final nine regular-season appearances, but he did well in a limited role with 19 points (six goals, 13 assists) in 73 outings. Fast's next chance to return comes on Saturday.

Jesper Fast Won't Play On Tuesday
1 year agoCarolina Hurricanes winger Jesper Fast (upper body) won't be in the lineup Tuesday versus the Rangers. He was injured at the weekend against Toronto, and it's unclear when Fast can rejoin the action. The 32-year-old has posted 11 points (four goals, seven assists) in 37 appearances this season. Brendan Lemieux practiced in Fast's position on the fourth line Monday and is expected to fill in for him against the Rangers.

Jesper Fast Sends Hurricanes Into The Next Round
2 years agoCarolina Hurricanes right wing Jesper Fast scored the game-winning goal in Thursday's 3-2 overtime victory against New Jersey, which sent the team into the Eastern Conference Finals with a 4-1 series win. Fast was on target in a power-play situation 7:09 into overtime. The 31-year-old had a very successful series, scoring three goals and recording at least one point in all five games. He's on five goals and eight points for the whole playoff campaign, having also amassed 23 shots on goal and 10 hits with a plus-five rating in 11 games.
