Jermaine Kearse Could Miss Season Opener
6 years agoThe New York Jets fear that wide receiver Jermaine Kearse (abdomen) will miss Week 1 against the Lions after having a medical procedure on his abdominal injury, according to sources. Head coach Todd Bowles said that Kearse is "getting better every day" but offered no timetable for his return. “Day-to-day, week-to-week,” Bowles said. Kears also missed the final two preseason games. If Kearse isn't ready against the Lions, Robby Anderson, Quincy Enunwa and Terrelle Pryor would be the top three wideouts. Kearse had career highs in catches (65), yards (810), targets (102) and touchdowns (five), but those numbers won't be reached again with Enunwa healthy and Pryor now in town. In standard-sized leagues, Kearse probably isn't worth investing in, especially since he's likely to miss at least one game now.
