Jerick McKinnon Sees Just Three Carries In Week 7
4 years agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Jerick McKinnon was used sparingly in the team's 33-6 win over the New England Patriots. McKinnon just saw three carries in the game, which resulted in negative one rushing yard. He didn't earn a single target in the passing game. It was a surprising development as the team was expected to feature McKinnon as their primary back with Raheem Mostert (ankle) out. The 49ers instead rode Jeff Wilson Jr. (ankle) all game long, giving him 17 carries before he left with an ankle injury of his own. Rookie JaMycal Hasty also had nine carries in the game. Wilson appears likely to miss Week 8 with what could be a high ankle sprain, but it's going to be hard to trust McKinnon after this week's showing.
