Jeremy Hellickson Flirts With No-Hitter on Friday
6 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Jeremy Hellickson threw 5 2/3 innings of no-hit ball against the Chicago Cubs on Friday. The right-hander struck out three and walked four. Hellickson was pulled from the game with just 89 pitches, and the bullpen blew the lead in an eventual loss. It appears Hellickson is not an option to pitch deep into games, having tossed less than six innings in all but two starts this season. Nonetheless, he is providing useful ratios and will take a 3.54 ERA into his next scheduled start against the St. Louis Cardinals.
