Cincinnati Reds corner infielder Jeimer Candelario (shin) is back at third base and is hitting eighth in the batting order on Tuesday against the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks and right-hander Zac Gallen. Candelario was scratched from Sunday's lineup with a left-shin contusion but is good to go now after Monday's scheduled off day. The 30-year-old will now look to get going at the plate after starting his first year in Cincinnati slow. However, he has gone 6-for-18 with a home run in his last five contests, so perhaps he's already starting to heat up. The switch-hitter is currently slashing .190/.274/.360 with three homers and 10 RBI in his first 100 at-bats in 2024. It's a tough matchup in his return from injury, and he's gone hitless in three career at-bats against Gallen.--Keith Hernandez
