Jeffery Simmons Not Rushing To Play This Year
5 years agoTennessee Titans first-round rookie defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons (knee) said he's not "rushing anything" in his rookie season as far as getting back onto the field as he rehabs an ACL tear. "If I don’t play this year, I’m fine with it, but my goal is to get healthy on my time and on this team’s time. There’s no time limit and when I can come back," Simmons said. The 19th overall pick in the draft suffered his torn ACL in February while training, and he could return near the end of the 2019 season, but the Titans have no incentive to rush him. There is no timetable for him to run or jog yet. Simmons will surely help the Titans pass rush when he's healthy, but that might not be until 2020.
