Jeff Wilson Jr. Leads 49ers With 84 Rushing Yards
2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Jeff Wilson Jr. gained 84 yards on 18 carries in the Niners' 27-7 romping of the Seattle Seahawks Week 2. Wilson started the game after Elijah Mitchell suffered a sprained MCL in Week 1. The 26-year-old gained the most yards per carry of any San Francisco running back against Seattle. Third-round rookie RB Tyrion Davis-Price only gained 33 yards on 13 carries, and undrafted rookie Jordan Mason did not have any carries. So it seems likely that Wilson will hold onto the starting role in an often messy backfield going into Week 3's Monday Night Football showdown against the Denver Broncos.
