Jeff McNeil Activated But Not Starting Game 1 On Monday
3 years agoThe New York Mets have reinstated second baseman Jeff McNeil (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list. However, he is not in the starting lineup for Game 1 of the team's doubleheader against the Atlanta Braves on Monday. Jose Peraza is covering second base and batting sixth in the game. McNeil will likely start the second game of the two-game set. McNeil has been sidelined since early May while dealing with a left hamstring strain. Over 31 games this year, he's slashed .242/.336/.374 with three home runs, eight RBI and 13 runs. He'll take over everyday second base duties once again shortly and Peraza will move to a reserve role.
